Geisha is one of the rarest and most celebrated coffee varietals in the world — known for an intensely floral, tea-like complexity that sets it apart from every other coffee you've tried. But most Geisha coffees are far too acidic for people with sensitive stomachs, GERD, or acid reflux. We changed that.
Hope – Guatemala Geisha is specifically sourced from San Patricio Estate's high-altitude volcanic farms in Moyuta, Jutiapa — where mineral-rich soil, cooler temperatures, and a diverse ecosystem naturally produce lower-acid, more complex beans. We then roast to a precise light profile to preserve every floral and citrus note while keeping the cup genuinely gentle on your stomach. Mold-free. Allergen-free. Doctor-recommended.

Five-Generation Farm
San Patricio Estate — family farming excellence since 1880

In the 1860s, Teodoro Recino left Sicily and made a remarkable journey to Guatemala — eventually settling in the volcanic highlands of Moyuta, Jutiapa. It was the beginning of a family legacy that would span more than 150 years. By 1880, the Recino family had established San Patricio Estate, their small but exceptional coffee farms sitting just 87 miles southeast of Guatemala City.
Today, five generations later, the family continues to farm with the same deep pride in their land. The fertile mineral-rich volcanic soil of Moyuta Volcano, the diverse ecosystem of regional birds and insects, and the high altitude of 1,625 MASL all combine to create a uniquely complex growing environment — one that produces Geisha coffee of rare quality and character.
This lot is naturally processed — dried whole with the fruit still on the bean — which amplifies the Geisha varietal's natural citrus and berry brightness and adds a gentle, sweet complexity. The result is a cup that's as vibrant and layered as any specialty coffee you'll find, yet smooth and easy on your stomach. A true once-in-a-cup experience.
"Pangea Coffee offers one of the cleanest, low-acid options for sensitive stomachs — smooth, pure, and allergen-free."
— Dr. Joseph Salhab, Board-Certified Gastroenterologist (@TheStomachDoc)

🛡️ Allergen-Free Guarantee
This coffee is processed in our SPOKIN-verified facility that handles ZERO of the top 9 food allergens (dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, sesame). Safe for customers with celiac disease, food allergies, and sensitivities.
Red Geisha grown at 1,625 MASL with a natural process produces a remarkably layered cup. Expect a bright citrus opening — think orange blossom and lemon zest — followed by a wave of ripe berry sweetness. The finish is long, floral, and tea-like, with a clean clarity that sets Geisha apart from every other coffee varietal.
Tasting Notes
*Tasting notes describe the natural flavor compounds in the coffee — not added ingredients. Our coffee contains only 100% pure coffee beans with no flavoring or additives.
Pour-over is where this Geisha truly comes alive — the clean extraction method highlights every layer of citrus, berry, and floral complexity. For our complete low-acid brewing guidance, visit our Complete Brewing Guide.
Pour-Over (Recommended)
1:16 ratio, 195–205°F water, 3–4 minute total brew. This method gives the Geisha varietal space to fully express its floral aromatics and citrus brightness with a clean, sweet finish. Grind medium-fine. Bloom for 30 seconds before your full pour.
Auto Drip
1:15 ratio, 200°F water. A beautiful everyday cup that carries the berry and citrus notes well. Use a medium grind and a clean, quality filter for the best result. A wonderful choice for a gentle, uplifting morning coffee.
Espresso
1:2 ratio, 25–30 second extraction. Produces a bright, fruit-forward shot with distinct floral and citrus clarity. A lighter, more aromatic espresso experience — stunning over ice or paired with oat milk as a morning latte.

Geisha (also spelled Gesha) is one of the rarest and most sought-after coffee varietals in the world, originally from Ethiopia and now grown in select high-altitude farms across Central America. Yes — Hope Guatemala Geisha is Q-grader tested for mold and mycotoxins at origin and roasted in our 100% dedicated allergen-free California facility. We are America's first SPOKIN-verified allergen-free coffee brand. We never process the Top 9 allergens on site — ever. Learn more in our Mold-Free Coffee Guide.
Natural process (also called dry process) means the coffee cherries are dried whole — with the fruit still surrounding the bean — before milling. This allows the natural fruit sugars to infuse into the bean during drying, which amplifies sweetness and adds layers of berry and citrus complexity. It is one of the oldest and most traditional coffee processing methods in the world, and it is particularly well-suited to the Geisha varietal's inherent floral character.
Pour-over is ideal — try a 1:16 ratio with water at 195–205°F for the clearest expression of the citrus, berry, and floral notes. Auto drip works beautifully for everyday enjoyment. For espresso, aim for a 1:2 ratio with a 25–30 second extraction. Visit our Complete Brewing Guide for step-by-step details.

We roast in small batches and ship within weeks (sometimes days) of roasting. Fresh-roasted coffee has more antioxidants, better flavor, and is gentler on your digestive system. We strive for same-day shipping on weekdays so your coffee arrives at peak freshness.
Store in the resealable bag at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. Avoid storing in the refrigerator or freezer once opened, as condensation can affect flavor. For best results, grind just before brewing. Whole beans stay fresh for 2–4 weeks after opening when stored properly.
