Hope – Colombia Supremo | Low Acid Light Roast

Why Hope – Colombia Supremo?

Colombia is one of the most celebrated coffee origins in the world — and for good reason. High-altitude growing conditions, diverse microclimates, and generations of small-farm expertise combine to produce some of the cleanest, most complex cups you'll find anywhere. The Supremo grade represents the very best of that: the largest, most carefully selected beans Colombia has to offer, rated at screen size 17/18 — the country's highest classification.

But for people with sensitive stomachs, even great Colombian coffee can be too much. We sourced this Supremo specifically for its lower-acid profile — growing altitudes between 1,300 and 1,650 MASL, classic washed processing for a clean and gentle cup, and our precise light roast profile to preserve every floral and citrus note while keeping it easy on your stomach. Mold-free. Allergen-free.

The Story Behind This Coffee

In Colombia, coffee is not an industry — it is a way of life. The vast majority of Colombian coffee is cultivated, harvested, and processed on small family-owned farms, each one its own carefully managed operation. These farmers are their own architects, designing their land and post-harvest methods to suit their soil, their altitude, and their community's traditions.

To support this complex network of small producers and connect them to the global market, Colombia established the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros de Colombia (FNC) — one of the most respected agricultural cooperatives in the world, operating since 1927. The FNC organizes regional cooperatives that provide farmers with centralized warehousing, dry mills, quality control, and fair export pricing. It is a system built to protect the farmer, preserve quality, and reward excellence.

The Supremo grade is the pinnacle of that excellence — Colombia's highest bean classification, reserved for the largest, most perfectly formed beans that pass a strict screen size of 17/18. Because Supremo lots are traceable to distinct regional harvests across Colombia, each with its own harvest cycle, there is a constant supply of fresh, peak-season coffee throughout the year. Every bag of Hope Colombia Supremo represents the best of what Colombian small-farm coffee can produce.

What Does Mold-Free Coffee Really Mean?

Most coffee — even premium brands — can contain traces of mold and mycotoxins. These compounds develop during harvesting, processing, or storage, especially in warm and humid conditions. That's why we take inspection seriously.

At Pangea, mold-free starts with sourcing discipline — not a sticker. Our certified Q graders inspect coffee at our facility, and sometimes at the source, evaluating beans for defects and quality. The washed processing used for this Supremo — carefully removing the fruit before drying — produces a cleaner bean with significantly lower mold risk than unwashed methods. We then roast in our SPOKIN-verified, Top 9 allergen-free California facility and ship fresh in small batches, so the coffee spends less time in the storage conditions where mold develops in the first place.

Flavor Profile & Tasting Notes

Supremo-grade Castillo, Caturra, Colombia, and Typica varietals grown at 1,300–1,650 MASL with a clean washed process produce a beautifully classic Colombian cup. The floral note opens the cup with brightness and clarity, giving way to a gentle wave of ripe berry sweetness. The citrus finish is clean, lively, and uplifting — a cup that feels as fresh as the mountain air where these beans are grown.

*Tasting notes describe the natural flavor compounds in the coffee — not added ingredients. Our coffee contains only 100% pure coffee beans with no flavoring or additives.

Why Pangea Coffee Is Different

We didn't start Pangea Coffee as a business idea. We started it because our family needed it. Our kids suffer from severe food allergies, so we built a coffee company around a dedicated allergen-free facility — and we take this more seriously than anything else we do.
